Tenryo Hita Ohina-Matsuri, or Girl’s Festival of Hita, Oita Pref. The Hita area prospered under Tenryo (Tokugawa Shogunate dependency) in the time of the Edo era. Hina Ningyo or traditional Japanese dolls which have been handed down for generations, have been well preserved, and are displayed at about 20 houses in the city, where everybody can visit and view from around 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the festival period.
Access: (1) Mameda-machi and Kuma-machi: The JR Kyudai Honsen Line to Hita Station, and then walk 20 minutes.
(2) Amagase-machi: The JR Kyudai Honsen Line to Amagase Station.
